App features

Everything your farm needs, in one place

The daily log, the land, the money, the people who back you and the people who supply you — one account, on every device you own.

Log it in seconds

Quick Log opens on the batch you're standing in front of, knows what day it's on, and tells you what you haven't recorded yet. Feed, mortality, weight, water, sales.

Every species you keep

Poultry, cattle, goats, sheep, pigs, rabbits, catfish, tilapia, cereals, legumes, roots, fruit and tree crops — each batch with the activities that actually apply to it.

Your land, measured

Walk a boundary with GPS or draw it on the map, then read the soil composition, pH and weather on that exact piece of ground — and log every watering against it, drip or sprinkler or by hand.

Drift you can catch early

Every batch compares this week to last — feed per animal, mortality, weight — and works out your feed conversion ratio from what you already log. Put several batches on one chart and see which is slipping.

Works 100% offline

Log feed, mortality, weights and sales with no internet at all — offline, in the pen, miles from a mast. It saves on the phone and syncs itself when you're back in range — nothing held in your head, nothing lost.

FarmIntel, on call

Ask about a sick bird, a feed decision or a planting window and get an answer in plain language — at 4am, without having to find anyone first.

Move, split and wean

Shift animals between houses, split a batch or wean young stock, and both sides of the count correct themselves instead of you keeping two sums in your head.

Investors who can see for themselves

Add an investor and they get a sign-in token by email, then follow the farm's activity and finances themselves. No monthly report to write.

A record that stays yours

Every change is kept in an audit history with who made it and when — and you can export the whole thing to Excel, CSV or JSON whenever you want.

The network

A farm is not an island

Two sets of people decide whether a season goes well: the ones who supply you, and the ones who back you. FamFarm now puts both of them inside the app — on your terms, and never in each other's view.

Upstream · experts & hatcheries

The people who sold you the birds can see how they're doing

Order your stock from a verified hatchery, turn the delivery straight into a batch, and — only if you choose to — let them watch it grow. A hatchery that can see the flock it sold you is a hatchery that can tell you something useful.

1 Find someone verifiedBrowse hatcheries, veterinarians and agronomists by country, service area and what they specialise in. The Verified badge is only issued after we've reviewed their credentials.
2 Order what you needDay-old chicks, hatching eggs, fingerlings, young livestock or seedlings — with the quantity, the agreed price and the date you need it by.
3 Turn the delivery into a batchWhen the order is marked delivered, the batch is created straight from it. Nothing gets typed twice, and the batch remembers where it came from.
4 Let them keep an eye on itSwitch sharing on and they can follow how the batch is doing. If mortality climbs past their threshold they're flagged — and they can send back a note on health, nutrition or treatment, with a follow-up date.

Hatcheries

“I supply day-old chicks, fingerlings or hatching eggs.”

They run their own side of it in FamFarm too — hatch cycles, candling and hatch-day reminders, average hatch rate across cycles, and an order book of everything they've been asked for.

Veterinarians

“Guidance tailored to this batch.”

Licensed and paraprofessional. They see the flock's losses and health rather than a description of them, and answer with notes on health, treatment or nutrition — each with a follow-up date so nothing is left hanging.

Agronomists

“I advise farmers on crops, soil and farm practices.”

Pair them with your plots and they're advising against real ground — the boundary you walked, the soil under it and the weather on it, not a general answer about your region.

Are you an agronomist, veterinarian or hatchery? List your practice, get the Verified badge after review, and farmers will find you.

And the people backing you can simply look

Add an investor from your Finances and they get a token by email to sign in with. From then on they follow the farm themselves — activity as it's logged, the photos and video attached to it, and the finances they put money into. You stop writing the monthly update, and they stop asking for it.

This is the half of the network that does see the money — because that is what they backed. It is a different door to the one your hatchery walks through, and you hold both keys.

Added in a minute

Open Finances, add an investor with their email address, and their contributions are tracked against the farm from then on. Cooperatives and teams work the same way.

The work, not a summary

They see activity as it happens, with the photos and video attached to it. Nobody has to take anybody's word for anything.

Messages stay between you

Chat with your investors is end-to-end encrypted and stored only on the two devices in the conversation. It is never kept on our servers.

For investors

Money in a farm that isn't on FamFarm?

Then you are trusting a phone call. Ask your farmer to put the farm on FamFarm and add you as an investor — it is free for them, it takes a minute, and from that point you are reading the same records they are instead of waiting to be told.

Sends a short message you can edit before it goes.

FamFarm reminder templates — brooding temperature, starter feed, vaccination, litter change and grower feed switch
The daily habit

Two taps, in the barn, with one hand

The reason farm software gets abandoned is that logging is a chore. Quick Log opens on the batch you're standing in front of, knows what day that batch is on, and shows you what you haven't recorded yet — so the record gets kept on the days it's least convenient.

“Not logged today: Feed Consumed, Mortality” — it tells you what's outstanding
The right activities per species — milk for the dairy herd, water and litter for the birds

The ground itself

Know your land, not just your herd

Walk the boundary of a field, paddock, pond or run with GPS in your hand, or draw it on the map. FamFarm works out the area, the perimeter and the elevation — then tells you what the soil under it is made of and what the weather is doing on it.

Area in hectares and acres, perimeter and elevation, measured not estimated
Clay, sand and silt percentages, soil pH, organic carbon and nitrogen
Air and soil temperature, humidity, soil moisture and the daily outlook

Before it costs you

Catch the drift while you can still fix it

A bad batch rarely announces itself. It shows up as feed creeping up, weight falling behind, a mortality line bending the wrong way — small changes that are invisible day to day and obvious week to week. So every batch puts this week next to last week, in the units you log in.

Ownership

Your record. Yours to take with you.

A farm's history is the most valuable thing the app holds, so we don't hold it hostage. Every change is written to an audit history with who made it and when — and whenever you want the whole thing out, you take it, in a format you can open without us.

Excel workbook with farms, batches and activities on separate sheets
Plain CSV for any other tool, or a complete JSON archive with nothing left out
Last 30 days, 90 days, 12 months — or everything you've ever recorded
Save it to Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox or straight onto the device

Keeping written records? Free is probably all you'll ever need.

Your allowance is measured in data, not in how much farming you do. Writing things down costs almost nothing — photos and videos are what fill a plan up.

1 KBwhat one action costs — saving a feed record, a sale, a mortality note, or opening a screen. The free plan covers about 100,000 of them: years of daily record keeping for most smallholders.
2 MBa single photo from a phone camera — the same as roughly 2,000 written records. If you want a photo on every log, that's what the paid sizes are for.
Always readableif you ever do use up your space, your records stay open to you — nothing is locked away or deleted. You'd only need more room to keep adding new entries.

Your allowance is cumulative and never resets — it counts everything you've stored since you joined, rather than starting over each month. Upgrade whenever you need more room, or stay free for as long as it lasts.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Yes — and not as a trial. The free plan gives you every feature, no card required. What the plans differ on is space, and space is measured in data rather than in how much farming you do. A written record — feed given, eggs collected, a sale, a bird lost — costs about 1 KB, so the free 100 MB covers roughly 100,000 actions. For a smallholder keeping honest written records, that is years of daily use. Photos and videos are the expensive part: one phone photo is worth around 2,000 written records, so if you want a picture on every log, that's when a paid size makes sense.
Yes — 100% offline, and not as a limited mode. You can create batches and log feed, mortality, weights, medication and sales with the network completely off. Each entry is saved on the phone straight away and sent up on its own the next time you have a connection, so you can record at the pen and worry about signal later. The only thing to know is that a record which has not synced yet exists only on that phone, so don't wipe or replace the device while entries are still waiting.
FarmIntel is the assistant built into the app. Ask it about a sick bird, a feed decision, a planting window or what a number on your dashboard means, and it answers in plain language — by text, by voice, or from a photo you take. It is there at 4am when no one is picking up. It is not a vet: for an outbreak, medicine dosing, withdrawal periods or anything touching human food safety, use it to understand the situation and then call a licensed professional.
Yes, from what you already log — no separate calculation and no inventory module required. Record feed given and weigh your stock now and then, and FamFarm shows kilograms of feed per kilogram of growth between your weighings. Alongside it, every batch compares this week to last on feed, mortality and weight, and you can put several batches on one chart to see which one is drifting before it costs you.
Yes. Move stock between houses, split one batch into two, or wean young animals into their own batch, and the counts on both sides correct themselves — no keeping two sums in your head and no batch quietly showing animals that are no longer in it. The history stays intact, so you can still see where a group came from.
Your records stay yours and stay readable — nothing is hidden, locked or deleted, and you can keep opening the app and reviewing everything you've recorded. The only thing that pauses is adding new entries, until you upgrade to a bigger size. We built it this way on purpose: a farm's history is the whole point of keeping it, and you should never lose sight of yours because of a bill.
Farmers of any size — a few birds in the backyard through to a multi-site operation — plus the investors and family members backing them, and the hatcheries, veterinarians and agronomists who supply and advise them. Farmers can add investors to their farm, who receive an access code and can then follow activity and finances. You can also use FamFarm without a farm at all: you'll get a Discover home with our expert directory and the community feed, and you can set up a farm later whenever you're ready.
Yes. Open Find Experts, browse the hatcheries near you and connect to one, then place an order — day-old chicks, hatching eggs, fingerlings, young livestock or seedlings, with the quantity, the price you agreed and the date you need it by. They accept it, confirm payment and mark it delivered, and you create the batch straight from the order rather than typing it all in again. Both sides rate each other afterwards, so the record of who delivers well builds up over time.
Only what you switch on, for the batches you pick, and only for that one expert — never for the network as a whole. What you can share is the flock's losses, growth, feed and health. What is never shared is money: income and expenses, sale prices, your investors, your debt and what your farm is worth stay out of it entirely. If mortality on a shared batch climbs past the threshold that expert has set, the batch is flagged to them so they can advise you — and they can send back a note on health, nutrition or treatment with a follow-up date. Turn sharing off whenever you like and it stops.
Ask the farmer to set the farm up and add you. It's free for them to start, and adding an investor takes a minute: from Finances they add you with your email address, and you'll get a token to sign in with. From then on you follow the farm's activity and finances yourself, with the photos and video attached to what was logged, rather than waiting for a summary. There's a ready-made message you can send them in the network section above — WhatsApp, email or copied to your clipboard.
Yes. Open your profile and you'll find a "My Farms" section with an "Add farm" button — add as many as you actually run, each with its own batches, plots, finances and investors. Batches are separate again, so a single farm can run many at once.
Poultry (broilers, layers, ducks, geese, guinea fowl, quail, turkey and breeders), livestock (cattle, goats, sheep, pigs and rabbits), fish (catfish and tilapia), and crops (cereals, legumes, vegetables, fruit, roots and tubers, herbs and tree crops) — or mixed farming across several of them. You can also map your land as plots: fields, paddocks, ponds or runs, walked out with GPS on your phone or drawn on the map.
Once signed in as a farmer, go to the Finances section and click the plus button. You will see the option to "Add Investor". This enables your investor to keep track of farm activities.
Log in as a farmer and click "New Batch". Select the currency, provide the necessary information, choose the type, add images and click "Save Batch". Your investors will be notified about the new batch.
Yes — as a farmer you can modify an existing batch via the top-right button, which provides various options for your running batch. We plan to add more options based on user feedback.
Go to "Farm Details", open the "Summary" tab and use the edit button to modify the information. For additional help, contact support via the chat channel — you'll get a response within 24 hours.
Android phones and tablets, iPhone and iPad, any web browser, and as a desktop app on Windows, macOS and Linux. It's one account across all of them — record something in the field on your phone and it's there when you sit down at a computer.
23, including Swahili, Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, Nigerian Pidgin, Amharic, Zulu, Arabic, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, Chinese and more. On Android and iPhone the app follows whatever language your phone is already set to; on the web app you can choose it yourself.
If you run a co-operative, an agribusiness, a feed or hatchery company, or a funded programme, get in touch. We work with organisations on running FamFarm under their own brand, connecting it to the systems they already use, and onboarding many farms at once — we'll scope it with you and agree terms that fit your size. Email [email protected] or use the contact form below.
We use end-to-end encryption, so only the sender and receiver can read messages. Messages are stored only on the sender's and receiver's devices, encrypted, and are never stored on our servers.
